New Zealand Suffers 6.9 Magnitude Earthquake
An Earthquake has hit off the New Zealand coast leaving the capital city Wellington suffering from power cuts and some structural damage including smashed windows. Water mains were also damaged in some areas of the city. The earthquake reportedly hit at nightfall and it was felt right up to the North of the island. New Zealand is known for it’s seismic activity due to being within the so called Pacific “Ring of Fire”.
