Fall Out Boy will Return to ‘Save Rock And Roll’ with New Album and Tour Announced
Less than a week ago we posted an article asking whether Fall Out Boy are reuniting as rumours had been growing on the net that the Illinois group were set for a return. Despite constant denials by the band members they have now confirmed via Twitter that they are back from their three year hiatus with a brand new album.
Naturally for a band of this level of popularity, music fans in the Twitterspehere have gone crazy upon hearing this news. The band went on an indefinite hiatus since they released their greatest hits album back in 2009. The boys are back though and it seems they have big plans for the music scene in 2013!
Their latest album is set to be called ‘Save Rock and Roll’ so of course FOB fans will be expecting some brilliant new rock based music.
A new song was released a day ago to further FOB fans excitement and has already had over a million views. Check it out below:
On their official site the band has written:
“When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music.
“It’s why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place. This isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.
“The future of Fall Out Boy starts now.”
Save Rock and Roll is set to be released in May and will be the fifth studio album for the band that was formed in 2001 which consists of Pete Wentz, Patrick Stump, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley.
In further exciting news for FOB fans they have also announced that they’ll be touring again around America.
For UK fans there is also a date in London in late February!
This has certainly been a big change in the space of a week. Less than a week ago guitarist Joe Trohman bluntly denied the reunion rumours but now there is a new song, tour planned and an album to look forward to in May which may just ‘Save Rock and Roll’.
If you are a fan of FOB or Rock music how excited are you about this announcement?
