Coachella 2013 Headline Revealed as Blur, Phoenix and Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is happening April 12th to April 21st this year for their 2013 edition. This will be in Indio, California at the Empire Polo Grounds. The event will be held over the two weekends in between the dates, so the first part will be April 12th-14th and the second part will be April 19th-21st.
The main lineup has already been revealed, but yesterday the headline acts were revealed to be Blur, Phoenix and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
This news has been received in a positive light so far, and just a few days ago parts of the lineup were leaked by a newspaper anyway, so the release of the headline acts was not too shocking.
This news has been received well because Blur have not played in the US since around the same time they reunited in 2009 to play gigs in Hyde Park, London. This will also be the first appearance for The Stone Roses since they reunited.
The festival market is very crowded at the moment with many independent events opening up all over the United States and of course around the world. People can’t afford to go to many as they are expensive for the tickets (Around $349 for Coachella itself), so they need to make a choice of which ones they plan to attend throughout the year, and the places that reveal the best headline acts usually get the most attention, and sales. Coachella has marked themselves as a premium music event, going up against whatever other organizers can come up with in the states.
Do you plan on going to this one? Cocahella has been going since 1999, so perhaps you have been to a previous event. We’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
