According to the National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman, it seems rather unlikely that we will be able to see a full 82-game season due to the new Collective Bargaining Agreement not being set in stone. Making an offer to the Union for 50-50 share revenues last week was supposed to, as thought by Gary Bettman, guarantee a full 82-game season. The Union chose not to accept the offer, nor come up with one of their own.
As of now, there’s really no news on when the season will, if at all, begin. We can only keep our fingers crossed at this point.
Update: Around 30 minutes ago it was confirmed that the 2012-2013 will officially be canceled through November 30th, slashing away over 300 games that would have been played, nearly thirty percent of the season.
